2018 FREE to Participate YOUTH ART COMPETITION
The Dania Beach Arts and Seafood Celebration will celebrate its 6th Annual Free Festival at Frost Park, Dania Beach, Florida. We are excited to announce our Fourth Youth Art Competition and invite all Broward County Elementary Schools to participate and submit their student’s art work to the Youth Art Competition. This is our call for Youth Art!
The theme of this year’s Youth Art Competition is “Treasures of the Sea”. As we celebrate our 6th year of the Festival, we ask for all of the artwork to incorporate the theme. The Youth Art Competition is a judged art competition, for grade levels K-5. Each school may submit one piece of artwork from each student pre-grade level into the competition. All artwork is due by April 18, 2018 at the City of Dania Beach DROP BOX in the CRA Office at the City of Dania Beach City Hall. Art N Soul will be overseeing the project and will visiting each school, if you like you can schedule a pick-up time.
All artwork submitted to the Youth Art Competition will be judged and judges will choose three winners from each grade: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners.
RULES & POLICIES:
DEADLINE: Artwork must be submitted by April 18, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. This deadline will enable us to publish participating schools in the media.
ARTWORK FORMATS: All artwork must fit within the following formats:
• Artwork size: 8 ½” x 11” not including the matting.
• The release form must be attached to the back of each entry.
• Do not laminate or frame artwork.
• All art work must be matted & shrink wrapped for outdoor protection.
AWARDS:
Two (2) awards will be given in each grade level;
1st Place and Honorable Mention. A $75 check card will be awarded to all First-Place student winners. Honorable Mention will receive a gift card
2nd Place and Honorable Mention. A $50 check card will be awarded to all First-Place student winners. Honorable Mention will receive a gift card.
3rd Place and Honorable Mention A $25 check card will be awarded to all First-Place student winners. Honorable Mention will receive a gift card.
In addition, all participants will be on display at the Festival on May 19th and 20th,2018 at Frost Park.
Schools with winning students will also receive money to further their art programs. 1st Place winners’ school receives a $100 check card and Art Supplies for each student winning First Place.
Award Ceremony: Saturday, May 19th at 12noon located at the Main Stage of the Dania Beach Arts & Seafood Celebration Event in Frost Park. Students and Teachers in attendance will receive the Ribbons and Awards at the presentation
